I recently bought a juicer second hand from a friend, so we decided to pull it out and try it.
I went to the fruit seller across the street and he gave a bag full of apples to me for FREE because they needed to be thrown out!
Six large apples (after the bad parts were cut off) made this much apple juice:
The kids had a ton of fun making it, and I was impressed by how easily it worked (strong motor) and how safe it seemed (not easy to get fingers caught in it). I love the concentration on Matthew's face here :-)
Both kids were eager to drink it as soon as we finished, but as soon as the novelty wore off my finicky second child won't touch it. Bummer. We're going to stop buying store bought juice and see if we can convince him this is better.
This little girl was happy though!
